Sunday Morning

I just got back from grocery shopping. I'm currently in the midst of my calming down mode. You know, the time it takes to get over the shock. I went over my budget, but I bought a few non-food items too. It pays to know the going price of things at various stores because even though I shop at a discount grocery store, not all items are the best price. Especially with non-food items.

Yesterday I visited my friend. This time I won the Upwards game, but just by the skin of my teeth. It was a good game... very close all the way through it. My friend gave me her copy of People magazine. The one with Paul Newman in his younger days on the cover. I believe this is the pose Sandy and Laura (cat's momma) used to do their drawing.

Fall is here now. It is not just cool at night. It is cold. Warm jacket cold. We're currently sitting in fog. It looks like it will take a bit longer to clear.

How's it going with you?

Sounds like you had a nice day....Glad you enjoyed it.

I got the photo I worked with off Entertainment Magazine, don't know if it is the same pose or not.

ahhh. Glad to know about another photo. (I hadn't yet taken the mag. and looked at your drawing of Newman. It will keep me from thinking I'm losing my mind.)

CC - I love your post today! So glad that you finally beat your friend......ha-ha! She needs to be on the other end every once in a while! Just kiddin! Everyone wants to win, dont't they?

Going to the grocery store is the pits! Everything cost so much and they have re-packaged now so you get less for more money. I am thankful for the gas prices that have gone down now...in the $2.70's.

It is very cool here. Currently tonight, 47F. It was in the 80's earlier in the week. I am ready for the weather to stay like this though. Cool & crispy....and you had better have some layers on.

Hope your weekend was a great one!

Enjoyed your post CC.... And the cartoon!!

You are so right about prices at the stores, even discount!! Boy I really understand Budgets now that we are retired... and on fixed income. But I did splurge and bought two pumpkins at Trader Joes that were a lot less that my discount grocery store... go figure!

I love the weather in Southern CA...today sleeveless dress and sandals....

Stay warm girlfriend.... LOL:Wanda
BTW glad you beat your friend too!!!

Yay...you won a game of Upwords!!! It's good to win once in a while...and it should be good to lose once in a while so it stays a challenge.

I left my house at 9:30 a.m. and arrived at Arlene's around 3:00 p.m. I didn't stop to pee or eat until I got to Sandy's area. I had forgotten to bring something to sleep in so I got off the freeway, ran into Target to buy something and got some fast food and was on my way. Traffic was fine, so why did it take so long? I'm a pretty fast driver too. By now you realize I am able to use my laptop at their house. I'm so glad it's working.

geesh cat's momma... you've got a bladder of steel!!! The question is, after hours of driving how long did it take to be able to unbend your knees and stand up?

I am kind of wondering how much longer the 99 cents stores will remain affordable with all of this money crisis going on these days, one never knows for sure what to expect next.

Today I notice another place had gone out of business a few blocks from me, they weren't there very long, more like they just opened up a few short months ago, it was one of those mom and pop shops basically that sold discounted items as well and I will miss that store a lot..and now this only means I will have to travel a little bit more out of my area for better deals.
