What's the deal here?

I'm not political by nature. I try to stay away from talks concerning politics... it makes for a nicer environment. For the most part, I rank politicians in the same category as car salesmen. They'll say whatever they think you want to hear to get what they want. In any event, I try to give the benefit of the doubt to incoming presidents until there couldn't possibly be any doubt. I've done that with the current incumbent as well. And there is now no possibility of doubt. Sigh.

But what's the deal with Bush appearing in front of handpicked audiences only? What's up with that? Is the big, bad Texan afraid of something? Is it nothing more than a "photo-op" kind of thing? A manipulation of public opinion? Gasp.

I've had an "aha" moment. Its because the good ole boy would no doubt lose his beans if he had to stray from the script. We would see his brilliance uncovered. It must be pretty dangerous.... his intelligence would be loose. Yes, that could be very dangerous.

Its nice how writing things down can often give you answers. I wonder what the Bush girls have been up to lately. Keeping them under wraps must be a real challenge, too.

Do you know that the audience is handpicked? Who said so? Is it a trustworthy source? Are you sure?

I'm not saying that in a mean way, I hope you know me well enough to know that. I'm just throwing questions out there because I seriously question everything the MSM says.

Nothing is true anymore, I learned this while my hubby was in Iraq. Nothing in the papers, nothing on TV, nothing is accurate but first-hand accounts from someone who was/is there, or you witnessing it yourself. I can tell you that having attended a Bush rally, the audience there consisted of his supporters. They didn't screen me, but I did see protesters on the street outside. ;)

TV news is where I've heard that Bush's audiences are handpicked. And I've heard it stated on several different occasions...different news stories, various networks. And just this morning I heard it once again...thus my comments.

I'm very much aware that if one were looking for the truth, they should not use the news as any kind of authority.... however, when you keep hearing the same thing over and over again..well, it tends to get implanted.

I feel very sorry for the Iraqi people, the man on the street as it were... what a tough place to be in, between a rock and a hard spot. And my heart goes out to all the military folks. Its gotta be tough on them, too. (And of course the families...understatement, fer sure.)

I attended a bush rally too and no one was screened. It was right in the middle of Bush country so there was little danger of non-supporters attending, though.

Sometimes I wonder if the 'selected' audience might be a way of Bush from being overwhelmed, too...keeping a bright outlook, as it were.

Having people throw daggers at ya can be tough. Just ask any blogger whose been "flamed".

(Just for the record, I am an independent...neither Republican or Democrat.)
