Oh No!! No, no no no... that will never do!!

Sarah Palin is a book burner!! A book ban-ner!! That will never do.

When Palin became mayor of Wasilla one of the first things she did was go to the public library to try to get some books banned. The librarian balked at the idea and Palin fired her. WTF?!?

She promotes ignorance. What the hell......

I don't need to hear any more. That says it all to me. 'nough said.

Do you know what books?

Here's an article about her (that's a bit slanted but overall probably pretty factual):

http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1837918,00.html

"Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving "full support" to the mayor. "

So the gal wasn't fired, Sarah asked on behalf of the voters - which is what she pleged to do, serve the people. The last paragraph speaks volumes, I think:

"In the end, her political journey from banner-waving GOP social conservative to maverick reformer may simply be about good timing. It's what former journalist Bill McAllister, who now works for Palin's press staff, used to call "Sarah-dipity" — that uncanny gift of knowing exactly what voters are looking for at a particular moment. And, of course, the political will to give them what they want. "

She finds out what the people want, and gives them what they want - and has a history of doing just that.

No, I don't know which books she wanted removed.

Separation of church and state!

I agree with your quote above this post. "If you can't say anything nice, than dont say anything at all."
I think that know what you were watching or reading about.

I read THAT before and I'm appalled to tell you the truth.

I read quickly an article by Deepak Chopra...on Obama and Palin's emergence as McCain's VP..

very interesting...

something to the effect that while Obama represents newness and change from the old, Palin like any "dark shadow" of the ego, will pop right up and try to hold one steadfast to the status quo...the good old guys, the old guard idea..

She comes across as a very confident and capable woman. She also comes across as just another "good ole boy" and we desparately need a break from that!!

Gawd, I hope we have enough people who think for themselves and just don't follow other institutions, be they religious or political.

I'm an Aussie and I'm dreading McCain or Palin having anything to do with the presidency. They are both about war, ego-tripping and control. From what I've heard, Palin also wants to drill up Alaska's pristine wilderness, she approves the aerial killing of wolves and wants to take polar bears off the endangered species list. Will man ever learn to respect nature?! I don't like what McCain and Palin stand for and I hope Obama wins!
