Searching

Yesterday I noticed some cops, with a k-9 officer, were searching for something.

I noticed them when I stepped outside and the first thing I thought was "something to blog!!" (Its very boring here.) I tried to get some decent shots of the dog sniffing around without being noticed, so I just clicked the camera. The shots didn't come out. (most were just pictures of the stairs. sigh.) When finished on the corner some of the officers, with the dog, continued walking around the block. Don't know if anything was found. We're guessing they were looking for drugs or a gun. (do dogs sniff out guns?)

Many hours later, after dark, I was once again standing outside and observed a female walking down the street. I kept my eye on her after seeing her looking around on the ground in the same area the police had been looking. She didn't find anything, either.

We've had seven shootings in the past seven nights here in the city. Fortunately no one has been killed, but several young people have been wounded. They're beefing up police presense and will be operating their mobile unit, an extra huge truck/van that can move around based on where the activity is.

wow, you're in the thick of it there, but at least you have something to blog about. Maybe I need a crime in my hood, ...

Need crime in your hood...You probably have it but just haven't noticed it. Its all over.

Its interesting in that there's a lot of stuff going on in the hood, but the apartments feel safe. Decent tendants make all the difference.

We've had some antics here in my town, too. One guy drove up and assaulted two women walking home from the bar. He had one woman's panties off by the time neighbors came out and chased him off.

We've had some wicked accidents courtesy of drunks, too. One so violent, it critically injured 3 and killed one. Of course, the drunk who did it wasn't hurt.

Sounds almost like my neighborhood except it seems at least once a week someone is shooting off their weapon someplace...and each night our yards tends to lite up from the coppers above us. We have many different kinds of the sorts goings on here, I guess that is what I get for living so freaking close to downtown area...well perhaps not all is all of that bad cause I am right smack between San Diego Police Head Quarters and a sub police station.

Glad to hear your tenants are nice anyway. I am going to guess you smoke outside and can't help but observe all the goings on. I used to smoke outside and that is how I talked to all the neighbors, etc....found out all the latest gossip at work. I quit over 2 years ago and now I know nothing about the neighbors.

I was reading about you snapping pix of the dog sniffing around and I thought how funny if the dog came right up to your place and started yapping...Now that would be something to blog about!
