Someone's In The Kitchen with Dinah

I went over to a friend's house yesterday. We played Upwards and she fixed dinner. In case you are unable to make out the final score it was 445 to 437... (cough) my favor. (sly grin) She's out to get me now, because she's the word queen. (snicker)

Oh... and that's a piece of blackberry pie in the container for me to take home. It was good.

Good for you CC! I haven't played Upwards. Is that anything like scrabble? And the score was very close.....the word queen had better watch out.....as she has some competition now!!!! Sounds like you had a great time. Dinner out, a board game and dessert to take home! Sounds like you were a winner all the way around!

And......I forgot to mention that the table is absolutely gorgeous with those lilacs! One of my very favorite, fragrant flowers. Beautiful!

Sounds like a perfectly wonderful day! That games looks very interesting ~~ Love the lilacs and the way they are in the glass vase.
Where is my piece of Blackberry pie??? Yummmmmm :)

My husband babysat some of our grandkids while us girls went out, and he ended up playing 4 hours of Monopoly. UGGGG!

I love word games, especially Scrabble...but when you and I played I didn't have a chance!! Sounds like a good day for you and your friend!

I really enjoyed these photos and glad to see Ruth is up and around and cooking and playing games. Yeah I know about your reputation with Scrabble.

BJ's question... yes, Upwards is like Scrabble only you can cover up letters as long as one of the original letter is showing. And the tiles can go 5 high.

I can't remember the original rules, but we allow each other to look in a dictionary, if needed, before playing. So there's no "challenging" a word.

And since I'm here... here's what we had for dinner. Lois fixed Stouffer's chicken lasgana (sp?? geesh, you'd think I could spell that!) with a fresh green salad and garlic bread. We also had vanilla ice cream on the heated pie. Yummo!
