Sunday Morning

A drizzily Sunday morning. The small table lamp creates an intimate, cozy feeling in the room as its warm light brightens the corner. A perfect time to have a great cup of coffee and relish the day. Except I didn't have any coffee.

Oh, sure... I had the remains of the emergency stash of cheap, industrialized coffee that I kept in the refrigerator but I had already been forced to use it the past two days. Enough punishment. I wanted decent fake coffee that comes in a bag... not a can.

This desire caused me to venture out in the drizzle to snap up whatever bagged coffee might be on sale. If there were any on sale... and luck and timing was on my side. There were fake sale tags below the shelves of fake bagged coffee. I kept searching for decaf and couldn't find any. WTH? (I may like caffine in my coffee, but my body doesn't and it lets me know!) Then I saw the Dunkin Donut coffee. And it was on sale as well. I've been wanting to give it a try, but I gotta say, their advertisement has over sold the product. (I'll make it stronger the next time to see if that helps.)

That lamp-in-the-corner paragraph kind of makes a pretty picture, doesn't it. What it fails to do is to point out that there are used dishes in the sink and a small pile of debris sits next to the broom waiting to be picked up and discarded. I have issues. I don't finish things. There... I've said it. My name is Crusty Crone and I'm an unfinisher.

I get all the way to the end with only one step left to do... and I leave it. Unfinished. What is up with that? I don't know why I do that. Do you leave things unfinished? Do you sweep the kitchen floor and have the dust and dirt neatly placed in a pile and then set the broom down in a way as though to protect the pile... and walk away? Like I said, issues.

Hahahaha...no, I don't do that. If I left a pile of debris from sweeping, the other four people in this house would never look down and step over it...they'd spread it back through the house! I guess I have to say I'm a finisher out of necessity! ;)

Your cup of coffee in the corner is a pretty picture. But since you brought it up, I'm imagining those dishes in the sink and the pile of dust waiting to be put in the dust pan...and that's your fault for mentioning it...haha!

I AM A NOT FINISHER and I'm proud of it! I do that kind of thing all the time. Just yesterday, I was cleaning my atrium deck, sweeping away leaves into a pile. Did I once think about sweeping them into a dustpan and being done. Of course not. That would not be me.

And I discovered your little secret (I think it was kind of your little secret)...anyway, cool.

enjoyed your rant about your coffee...

nice photo, very warm and inviting and like you said, doesn't show what you've left undone..ha

The picture was great but funny with the story of the dishes by it. I have taken pictures like that occasionally and then try to fuzz out the bad stuff. I am not a finisher AT ALL. I quit when the going gets rough sometimes, but I also get so distracted and don't remember what the hell I did 5 minutes ago. I am also not any where near as energetic as I used to be. If I have to get down on the floor to get something, I stay down there for along time because it is too hard to get back up. Old age is NOT for sissies.

First, my name is Nurse Rudee and not only am I an unfinisher, I'm a neverstarter. If the chore is in anyway linked to cleaning, I abhor it. Never used to be like this, something happened when I turned 50 and decided I HATE CLEANING. Used to be you could eat off my floors. I don't recommend that these days.

I agree about the DD coffee. It just isn't the same as what you get at the donut shop. It is however, at least for me, ultimately lower in calories.

Thanks for making me laugh out loud today. Funny post CC.

Whew. It makes me feel better knowing others leave the last step(s) undone as well. Thanks gang.

I have a sign which says, 'I'm creative.... I can't be tidy as well'. I also sweep up but don't actually get it into the bin. It gets there eventually, but I like to do it in stages. Hate housework! I would like to hire a trained chimp to do mine. I have fridge magnets that say 'You can touch the dust, but please don't write in it'; 'A mind is a terrible thing to waste on housework' and 'Dull women have immaculate houses'. My friend of 5 years gave me that and my son's comment was, 'You must be the most exciting woman in WA'! :)))

That should have read 'my friend of 59 years'.
