(I just don't seem to have the knack of getting a straight shot.) The background is way too busy... too much color. But that's how lessons are learned. No matter how many times it takes.

I took a (large view) and I thought that the background looked like soft water....which is what a violin seems to often sound like.

All of the colors is what makes this painting so great. I just love it!!
I was looking at this again and somehow missed your comment about the background being busy. I don't think so at all. I love the background as is. To me, the amount of color is just perfect.
